Olakunle Otuyo is a Nigerian actor, filmmaker, stage performer, and creative director, and the founder of Olakunle StageCraft, a creative brand dedicated to powerful storytelling through film, theatre, and creative training. From an early age, Olakunle displayed a natural passion for storytelling and artistic expression. What began as a childhood interest in performance eventually grew into a lifelong commitment to acting, filmmaking, and creative mentorship within the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Today, Olakunle StageCraft represents a platform through which he continues to develop impactful productions, train aspiring actors, and collaborate with filmmakers, theatre producers, and creative organizations to create meaningful stories that inspire audiences. The journey, however, began long before professional film sets and stage productions.
Early Passion for Acting and Creativity
Olakunle’s journey into storytelling started at the age of seven years old, when he performed in a stage presentation during his primary school concert. The performance left a strong impression on the audience. Parents praised his natural stage presence and expressive delivery. After the performance, the school proprietress spoke to his mother and made a statement that would become prophetic:
“Your son is a born actor.”
That moment marked the beginning of a creative journey that would shape Olakunle’s life. Even as a child, creativity came naturally to him.
